Drinking and Driving
The Super Bowl is right around the corner and with the Super Bowl comes Super Bowl commercials and parties. Even though the Vikings didn't make it to the Super Bowl this year, many people will still be out celebrating and watching the big game. I heard the MSP Airport is expecting up to 70,000 people passing through security on Sunday. For those of us driving instead of flying it means there could be drivers out on the roads who shouldn't be driving. According to the National Highway Transportation Administration (NHTSA) someone is killed every 50 minutes from drinking and driving in the United States or about 29 people per day. A total of 10,497 people died in 2016 due to alcohol impaired traffic accidents. Of all traffic fatalities 28 percent involve alcohol impairment.
It's sad to think that one person is killed every hour from an alcohol impaired driver. There are a number of ways to prevent these incidents, call an Uber, get a cab, or give someone else the keys. They are easy steps to take to keep everyone safe this Super Bowl Sunday.
Have a great time watching the Super Bowl! Just remember if you're ever in a jam call Sam.
